Autism and Educational Training

I notice their are several colleges out there offering courses in Autism or special needs training.Personally, I think this is great! With Autism on the rise and budget cuts every little bit helps. A professional career in this field is in  HIGH DEMAND . I did a little bit of browsing today and discovered http://educationengine.comautism_certification.htm reflects several schools that offer anything from ABA to Play therapy,Certified behavior analyst,Music therapy, speech and language and  occupational therapy. This field requires patience, understanding and constant research.

The schools should be accredited and recognized by The Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB)  who awards credentials to individuals who have met coursework, degree, fieldwork and examination requirements. I hope you are supportive just as I am and encourage those that are moving forward in this field to pursue it with the same kind of passion that parents have that live through it daily. We(parents) are self taught and are forced to learn as we go and grow with Autism and we choose and apply what works best for our child/children. In an effort to help and stay informed some of attend workshops, meetings and become certified if and when time permits.

As we continue to learn we continue to allow Autism to speak through us which give us the opportunity to educate YOU!
